Mixing cannabis with tobacco is very common in Europe. In the 1960's and 1970's, for most Europeans, nothing else was available but hashies. And since we started with hashies and we already rolled our own 'roll-ups': we crumbled it in our rolling tobacco because a pipe tasted heavy and not everyone had one. These roll-ups were later known as the famous spliff (a joint with tobacco and weed in it), which seems to be smoked all over Europe. Americans and Canadadians already had weed to process into a pure joint. Since then we have grown a lot of weed in Europe, first outside in gardens and later in houses and greenhouses.
